Frequently Asked Questions

  • Therapy can be a valuable resource for everyone. If you struggle to manage your emotions or if your emotional well-being is affecting your performance at school, work, relationships, or self-image, it's a good time to seek professional help.

Therapy is not only about problem-solving; it's also a powerful tool for personal growth, self-awareness, and self-discovery. If you're interested in understanding yourself better, exploring your thoughts and feelings in a safe and confidential space, or simply having an hour that's entirely yours to express yourself, therapy can be incredibly beneficial.

  • Virtual therapy is an accessible way to partake in the therapeutic journey. We will meet via a secure online platform and connect in real-time. You are able to be in your own space without having to worry about transportation or commuting - eliminating some of the barriers to getting you to sessions. All you will need is a secure and reliable internet, a device, and a confidential space. Feel free to bring along any comfort items, like your pet.

  • No, I do not accept insurance for my services. Instead, all of my services are available on a private pay basis. You can make payments using a credit card, a Flexible Spending Account (FSA), or a Health Savings Account (HSA).

If your insurance plan offers the possibility of reimbursement for out-of-network providers, I'm happy to provide you with the necessary paperwork, such as a superbill or receipt, that you can submit to your insurance company. Please be aware that not all insurance plans provide reimbursement for out-of-network providers, and some may have deductibles or allowable amounts. To understand your specific plan's details, I recommend calling the customer service number of your insurance and speaking to a representative.

  • Yes, after you receive your superbill, simply submit it to your insurance. They will get you a check with your reimbursement amount after approval.

To ensure a smooth experience, I recommend reaching out to the Member Services department using the phone number provided on the back of your health insurance card. Let me know if you have any questions about what to ask.

  • To make your payment process as effortless as possible and to keep our focus on your therapy, we ask that you securely maintain a credit card on file in Simple Practice. We accept most major credit cards, and your card will be automatically charged on the day of your session. This ensures a seamless experience, free from the distraction of payment transactions.

  • Each session is 45 minutes. With most clients, we will meet on a weekly basis. After a few months and depending on your progress toward goals, we can discuss a change in the frequency of our sessions.

  • Your time slot is reserved just for you. Because of this, if you cancel or need to reschedule within 48 hours of your scheduled appointment, you will be charged the full session fee. Of course, exceptions can be made for emergencies. I kindly ask that you notify me of any changes prior to 48 hours before your scheduled session.

  • This is totally normal! The hardest part is getting started. I recognize and appreciate the bravery it takes to show up. Remember, that most people don’t regret when they start therapy; they wish they began sooner!

  • Schedule a free 25-minute consultation with me to make sure that we are a good fit. Once all is a go, we will schedule your first appointment. You will receive paperwork prior to our first session, and we will spend our first session getting to know each other and going over your goals.

  • Although I'd love to work with people from all over the country, due to state licensing, I can only work with clients who are able to join sessions while physically located in New York State.
